96 years passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Richmond Terrace Nursing Home. Reunited with her beloved husband Emiel (1990). Cherished mother of Patricia & husband Bill Carr (Amherstburg), Joe & the late Laurie (1998) (St. Catharines, ON). Loving Grandma of Terry & husband John Laporte (Amherstburg), Greg Carr (Amherstburg), Chris DeValkenaere (St. Catharines, ON), Joe DeValkenaere (Edmonton, AB), Amanda Fletcher (Venice Beach, CA). Dear Great-grandma to Nicole & husband Joe Zanotti, Erin, & Michael Laporte, Taylor Carr, Michael & Sierra DeValkenaere, Sheena, Kansas, Joe, & Devon DeValkenaere. Dearest Great-great-grandmother of 4. Predeceased by 5 brothers & sisters of Peterborough, ON. Helen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses & staff (3 East) at Richmond Terrace Nursing Home for the exceptional care & compassion shown to Helen & her family. Donations to the St. John the Baptist Building Fund or Canadian Diabetes Assoc. would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20th at St. John the Baptist Church, 255 Brock St., Amherstburg from 10:00 am until the time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery to follow.
