Born March 3, 1935 in Castions di Zoppola, Italy. Pietro passed away peacefully on April 14, 2017, at the age of 82. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ada (nee Tesolin). Dear father of Marisa Morassutti and husband André, David (Celeste), and predeceased by Steven (1964). Treasured Nonno of Elyse and Olivia Morassutti. Brother of Dina (the late Dorino), Luigia (the late Cesare), Carmen (the late Antonio), Luigi (the late Roberta), Dante, and predeceased by Fermino, Lorenzo, Enrica and Giovanni, Dianella and Carlo, Onorio (survived by Antonietta), and his parents Vittorio and Maria, all of Italy, Switzerland and France. Brother-in-law of Sergio Tesolin and Jean Tesolin. Pietro will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends. Pietro immigrated to Canada in 1953. He worked in construction for many years before his employment at Chrysler Canada, retiring after 30 years of service. Pietro always spoke lovingly of his native Italy and continued many traditions of making wine, curing prosciutto and aging cheese to the enjoyment of family and friends. He would spend hours meticulously tending to his garden and fruit trees, especially proud of the huge tomatoes he would harvest. Pietro was a proud member of the Giovanni Caboto Club for more than 60 years.
