Don, born July 13, 1931 in Amherstburg, ON, passed away surrounded by family at WRH, Ouellette Campus August 5, 2017. Loving companion of Bernice Goudreau and beloved husband of the late June (Meloche, 1995). Dear father of Guy and Brenda (Mills), Don and Christina (Dayeg), Lori Bastien-Villeneuve (Maurice), Lynn Bastien (Bob Swan), Kitty Bastien-Fauteux (Jean), and Sharon Bastien-Donaldson (Stuart). Proud grandfather of Guy Bastien Jr. (Joanne), Jeffery Bastien, Jennifer Andrew (Candice), Shari Andrew, Amanda Dionne-Worden (Matthew), Lisa Dionne, Sarah Griffiths, Dylan Griffiths, Michael Donaldson and Graham Donaldson. Great grandfather of Mathieu Bastien, Marcus Bastien and Nate Worden. Don was pre-deceased by parents Freeman and Laura (Amlin) Bastien and siblings Shirley Van Lare (Jerry), Norma Graveline (Bill), Garfield Bastien, Ray Bastien, Marlene McFadden (Jack), and Larry Bastien, and survived by sister Jackie Tullo (Carlo), brother Gil Bastien (Suzanne Quenneville) and sister-in-law Sharon Bastien. Also survived by nieces Carole Gaspar, Julie Little, Wendy McFadden-Smith, Jeannine Bastien, Lisa Bastien and nephews Greg Graveline, Ken McFadden, Derrick Cracknell, Deryl Cracknell, and David Bastien. Honourary “step-dad” of Denise, Barry, Darlene and Karen Goudreau. Special godfather of Carol Beaumont. Don was a retiree of Duplate Glass and was a security guard for 14 years at Windsor Public Library. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff at WRH Ouellette Campus who attended to Don so professionally and caringly.
