SERVICE EXCELLENCE when you need it most.
It is with great sadness, after a brief illness, the loss of a beloved husband and father Blake Edwin Gifford. Blake passed away November 9 2017 at the age of 78 years old, peacefully with his wife and family at his side. Survived by his beloved wife Sandi of 54 years, his children Yvonne (Michael), Darren (Diana), Scott (Robin) and his pride and joy his grandchildren Tyler and Adrian. Also his sisters Barbara (Len), (Frank), Nancy (Richard), Deanna (deceased) and brother David (Miriam). Uncle to many nieces and nephews and well know as “Uncle Blake” to many of his cherished family friends. Blake was an accomplished architect working for such distinguished firms as Giffels and Albert Kahn. He loved travelling to Florida, playing golf, biking and pickle ball. The sound of hockey or golf always flowed throughout our home. Above anything Blake was a dedicated husband and father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle and friend to whom he loved immensely. We were all blessed to be apart of his life. We would like to thank Mara Jelich of Karmanos Cancer Institute who showed such compassion and kindness guiding us through this difficult journey. Dr. Phillips, his team and the wonderful nurses in the Acute Care at Karmanos were his angels. Thank you also to the Oncology floor at Metropolitan Hospital of Windsor. Thank you to Dr. Bergeron and Dr. Kellam for your guidance and treating Blake with dignity and respect. A special thank you to Donna, Meghan, Earlene, Kellie, Sara, Sandy, and all of the nurses for the wonderful care you provided Blake and the support you gave the family. To all his extended family and friends who spent time with Dad at the hospital, thank you for the tremendous support you gave to us and the love you shared with Dad.
